How the Formula Works
This calculator uses a multivariate regression model built from lab measurements of real pickleball paddles. The model looks at how static weight, balance point, and overall length combine to produce swing weight.
For convenience, the calculator lets you enter static weight in ounces and converts it to kilograms internally.

What is swing weight?
Swing weight describes how heavy a paddle feels when you swing it. Two paddles with the same static weight can feel very different if the weight is distributed differently along the handle and head.
How accurate is this?
This is an estimate based on a regression model from lab-measured paddles. It’s best used for comparisons and experimentation, not as an official manufacturer spec. That being said, the formula estimates swing weight with 97% accuracy, which is typically within 1 swing weight point; rarely up to 2 points.
Why use cm and inches?
Balance point is typically more precise in centimeters, while paddle length is commonly listed in inches. The model is trained on that mix.
Can I use this for mods?
Yes. Re-measure your paddle after adding lead tape or changing grip setups, then plug the new values into the calculator to see how swing weight shifts.
