The J3CR is the Widebody piece of Honolulu's Core Reactor lineup, and the last of the three CR shapes to get the Crystal Blue™ Endurance Surface, Honolulu's Blue Grit™ surface treatment. Tier 1 spin durability and an Elite spin rating, on the highest-firepower Widebody Honolulu has built.

This is Honolulu's “Core Reactor” (CR) platform, a Gen-4 multi-density, full-foam core, EPP interlaced with EVA perimeter foam with a complicated-looking neck pivot architecture, and a carbon fiber/fiberglass/carbon fiber (CFC) layup. It shares this platform with the Hybrid J2CR and Elongated J6CR, both of which got the Blue Grit surface back on May 29. J3CR is the shape that completes the trio.
Static weight is 8 ounces on a 16 by 8 inch Widebody face with a 5.59 inch handle. Swing weight comes in at 109.6, actually lighter than the shape's immediate Gen-4 predecessor, the J3NF (109.8), and well below the older Gen-2 J3K and J3K Pro (both over 111). Hand speed scores 82 out of 100, the highest of any Widebody Honolulu has tested, ahead of even the lower-firepower J3NF (78).

KewCOR is a controlled firepower metric — how efficiently the paddle transfers energy back into the ball, measured with a ball cannon.
KewCOR comes in at 0.416, a firepower score of 79 out of 100. For context inside the same shape family: the J3NF, the direct Gen-4 predecessor before the Blue Grit surface, scored 66; the older Gen-2 J3K and J3K Pro scored 46 to 50. This is a clear step up in raw power for the Widebody shape, in line with Honolulu's own description of the J3CR as delivering the most power in their lineup.
Tier 1, Elite spin category — a jump from the J3NF's Tier 4, Good rating. Spin RPM measured 2,417, elite, in the same range as its Core Reactor siblings: J6CR Blue Grit (2,407) and J2CR Long Handle Blue Grit (2,424).
On the Feel Map, J3CR Blue Grit plots deep in the hollow, soft quadrant, right alongside its Core Reactor siblings — J6CR Blue Grit and J2CR Long Handle Blue Grit all cluster in the same small region, so the Blue Grit surface and EPP-foam platform give the whole CR family a consistent feel regardless of shape. It's close to the opposite end of the map from the Six Zero Coral Pro-Widebody, which reads dense and stiff by comparison; if you've hit with a Coral Pro, expect the J3CR to feel like a different category of paddle entirely.
The balance point sits unusually low on this paddle (22.7 cm), which is part of why hand speed scores so high. The tradeoff is that the top of the paddle can feel a little flimsy on hard exchanges. My favorite fix: 5 to 6 grams of tuning tape at 10 and 2 o'clock — just enough perimeter weight up top to firm up the face without giving back much of that hand speed advantage.

Who it's for
- Players who want the highest-firepower Widebody Honolulu has built, without giving up maneuverability — hand speed here is the highest of any Widebody paddle Honolulu has tested.

- Players comfortable modding: a little added weight up top pairs well with this paddle's low balance point.
Who it's NOT for
- Players who prefer a higher, more head-heavy balance point out of the box — this one's built light up top.
- Players who want a dense, stiff-feeling paddle. The J3CR reads hollow and soft on the Feel Map, close to the opposite end from something like the Six Zero Coral Pro.
J3CR Blue Grit completes Honolulu's Core Reactor trio — Hybrid, Elongated, and now Widebody — all sharing the same Blue Grit surface and elite spin durability. For the Widebody shape specifically, it's the highest-firepower version Honolulu has built, and it manages that without sacrificing hand speed, an unusual combination on paper. At $175.50 with code JOHNKEW, it's worth a look for players who want serious power in a maneuverable widebody shape, though the low balance point is worth knowing about (and worth a small tuning-tape fix) before you buy.
