Selkirk Boomstik vs Selkirk OMNI (Elongated)
Two premium Selkirk elongated paddles from the same build family, tuned in very different directions.
Quick take: These two share almost everything on paper: the same Infinigrit surface, carbon face, foam core, lifetime warranty, and elongated 16mm shape. But Selkirk tuned them in opposite directions. The Boomstik is a firepower monster, one of the hottest paddles I have tested, very stiff and poppy. The OMNI is the more forgiving and more controlled of the two, a touch softer, with slightly more spin, a bit more stability, and a lower price. So this comes down to raw power versus control and value.

Power: the Boomstik is in a different league
This is the headline difference. The Boomstik posts a KewCOR of 0.431 and a Firepower score of 94, which is near the top of everything in my database, while the OMNI reads 0.407 and 67. Both sit in my Power profile, but the Boomstik is meaningfully hotter across the board: more serve speed (62.5 vs 60.4 mph) and more pop (39.4 vs 38.3). If your first priority is raw power, the Boomstik wins this clearly.
Spin: a slight edge to the OMNI
Spin runs the other way, though the gap is small. The OMNI reads 2,364 RPM to the Boomstik's 2,306, both comfortably in Elite territory and both Tier 3 for durability, so both hold their spin reasonably but neither is a Tier 1 spin-retention paddle. Call spin a near tie with a slight nod to the OMNI.
Forgiveness, swing weight, and feel
The OMNI is the more forgiving and more planted of the two. It carries a higher twist weight (7.06 vs 6.81), so it is more stable on off-center hits, and a higher swing weight (121.5 vs 118.0), which gives it more plow-through at the cost of a little hand speed. The Boomstik is a touch quicker in the hand and, more importantly, much stiffer in feel. On my Feel Map both land in the Stiff plus Hollow quadrant, but the Boomstik sits far out toward the extreme while the OMNI is much more moderate, which is exactly what you feel on court: the Boomstik is board-stiff and lively, the OMNI noticeably softer and rounder within the same family.
Build
Structurally these are siblings. Both use Selkirk's Infinigrit surface over a carbon face and a full EPP foam core, both are thermoformed Gen-4 builds, and both carry Selkirk's lifetime warranty. There is no meaningful construction gap here; the differences you see in the numbers come from how each one is tuned, not from fundamentally different materials.
Feel Map
Both Selkirk elongated paddles sit in the Stiff + Hollow quadrant, but the Boomstik is pushed far into the corner (very stiff, very hollow) while the OMNI is much more moderate. That distance on the chart is the softer, rounder feel you get from the OMNI.
My on-court take
I mained the Boomstik for six months, and it is still one of my favorite paddles. That stiff, hollow, pop-forward profile is exactly what I like, and the numbers line up with what I feel: it is fast, lively, and it rewards you for swinging. Personally, I prefer it over the OMNI. That said, if you are looking for a little more control than the Boomstik offers, the OMNI is the clear choice. It is the softer, steadier, more forgiving of the two, and you trade some raw pop to get there.
Who each one is for
Get the Selkirk Boomstik if you want maximum firepower and a stiff, poppy, lively feel, and you will use that power rather than fight it. It is one of the hottest paddles available, and it is the elongated Selkirk to reach for if power is the point.
Get the Selkirk OMNI if you want the more forgiving and more controllable paddle: a higher twist weight and swing weight for stability and plow-through, a softer overall feel, slightly more spin, and a lower price, while still sitting in the Power profile.
Who neither is for: players after a soft, control-first paddle or a budget option. Both are premium, firm, Power-profile paddles, with the OMNI simply the more measured of the two.
