Thrive Ignite Pro Hybrid Review
Thrive's Ignite Pro platform comes in three shapes: this Hybrid was the original release back in June, followed months later by the Ignite Pro Elongated and Ignite Pro Elongated Arc. All three share the same Gen 4 core recipe, though the Hybrid feels distinctly different on the Feel Map, more on that below.
Spin RPM comes in at 2,222, a scaled score of 78 out of 100, Good, not Elite like its two Elongated siblings, though spin durability still tests at the same Tier 3.
KewCOR lands at 0.412, a firepower score of 81 out of 100, solidly in Power territory, just a shade behind the Elongated (82) and Elongated Arc (83).
Retail is $219.99, or $197.99 with code JOHNKEW. Unlike its two newer siblings, this one is already in stock.
This is Thrive's Gen 4 platform: a Full-Foam core (EPP with a TPE perimeter ring, plus expanding foam), a carbon fiber/fiberglass/carbon fiber layup, and a coated peel-ply surface, on a 16.26 by 7.8 inch Hybrid face with a 5.35 inch handle. It's the original shape in this lineup, launched back in June, before Thrive added the Elongated and Elongated Arc months later.
Static weight is 8.0 ounces. Swing weight comes in at 113.5, and hand speed scores 59 out of 100: noticeably faster hands than the standard Elongated (39), though not quite as fast as the Elongated Arc (61). Warranty is Lifetime here, a real step up from the 1-year warranty on the two Elongated builds.

KewCOR is a controlled firepower metric: how efficiently the paddle transfers energy back into the ball, measured with a ball cannon.
KewCOR comes in at 0.412 with a firepower score of 81 out of 100: Power territory, just a shade behind both Elongated builds (82 and 83). All three shapes in this lineup hit hard.
Tier 3, Good spin category, the one shape in this lineup that doesn't test Elite. Spin RPM measured 2,222, meaningfully behind both Elongated builds (2,353 and 2,321), though still a respectable number on its own.
On the Feel Map, Ignite Pro Hybrid plots in the hollow, stiff quadrant too, but it sits much closer to center than either Elongated build: more of a classic Gen-3 "honeycomb" feel here, despite sharing the exact same full-foam core as its two siblings. The Ignite Pro Elongated and Ignite Pro Elongated Arc both plot noticeably further out toward hollow: more of a Gen-4 "foam" feel. Not a better-or-worse thing, just a different feel to be aware of if you've played either Elongated build before.
Thrive builds this platform three ways. This Hybrid is the pick for a classic Gen-3 honeycomb-style feel and better overall hand speed than the standard Elongated build, and it's the original shape in the lineup.
If you want the stiff, hollow Gen-4 foam feel that Thrive's newer Elongated shapes are known for instead, get the Ignite Pro Elongated (biggest sweet spot of the three) or the Ignite Pro Elongated Arc (fastest hands of the three) instead.
This plays like an aggressive power paddle too: high power and pop, with good spin that helps shape and control the ball despite the firepower. It'll feel most familiar to players coming from Gen-3 paddles, thanks to that classic honeycomb-style feel, even though it's built on the same full-foam core as its two Elongated siblings. Sweet spot is good here as well. A strong pick if your game leans aggressive and you'd rather have the more familiar Gen-3 feel underneath it.

Who it's for
- Players who want a classic Gen-3 honeycomb-style feel paired with modern Gen-4 spin and Tier 3 durability.
- Players who want Thrive's best warranty in this lineup: Lifetime here, versus 1 year on the two Elongated builds.
- Players cross-shopping the Ignite Pro Elongated who want noticeably better hand speed without giving up that classic feel.
Who it's NOT for
- Players who want Elite spin category: this is the one shape in the lineup that tests Good instead.
- Players who want the absolute fastest hands available in this platform: the Ignite Pro Elongated Arc is still a step faster (61 vs. 59).
- Players who prefer the stiff, hollow Gen-4 foam feel: get the Ignite Pro Elongated or Elongated Arc instead.
The Ignite Pro Hybrid is the shape that started this platform, and it still stands apart from its two newer Elongated siblings: a classic Gen-3 honeycomb-style feel, a Lifetime warranty, and hand speed that splits the difference between the two Elongated builds. Spin durability matches the rest of the lineup at Tier 3, though spin itself tests Good rather than Elite. At $197.99 with code JOHNKEW, it's the pick for players who want Thrive's modern power and control without giving up that familiar Gen-3 feel.
